ISO 9001 Certification

ISO 9001 certification in the UAE.
A quality system that runs, not one that sits in a binder.

ISO 9001 is the certificate buyers and main contractors in the UAE ask for most often. We build a quality management system around how your business already works, take it through internal audit and management review, and prepare you for an accredited certification body.

ISO 9001 certification in the UAE and Dubai with ESGweise: gap analysis, quality management system design and implementation, internal audit, management review and Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit support, for organisations of any size. Systems built now are built to ISO 9001:2026, published in September 2026. ESGweise is not a certification body; certificates are issued by an accredited certification body of your choosing.

01 The standard

What ISO 9001 certification means

ISO 9001 sets the requirements for a quality management system: how you understand what customers need, plan and control your work, deal with what goes wrong, and keep improving.

It is the only standard in the ISO 9000 family you can be certified to. It shares its clause structure with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, so organisations that need more than one can run them as a single integrated system with one set of documents and one audit programme.

02 New edition

ISO 9001:2026 is out. What it means for you

ISO published the sixth edition, ISO 9001:2026, on 16 September 2026. The process approach and risk-based thinking stay. The changes reported so far give more weight to quality culture and ethical behaviour, treat risks and opportunities separately, and strengthen how changes to the system are planned and controlled.

  • Already certified to ISO 9001:2015: your certificate stays valid during the transition, expected to run to around September 2029. Plan the move with your certification body rather than leaving it to the last surveillance visit.
  • Starting now: build to the 2026 edition, so the system does not need reworking within three years, and confirm when your certification body can certify to it.
03 How it works

Five steps to the certificate

01

Gap analysis

Where you stand against every requirement, what already works, and a fixed quote for the rest including expected certification body fees.

02

Design the system around your business

Processes, objectives, risk and opportunity registers and the documents the standard needs, written around how you work so people use them.

03

Run it and build the records

Training and awareness for your people, then a period of operation that produces the evidence an auditor will ask for.

04

Internal audit and management review

An impartial internal audit of the whole system and a management review on real data, both required before Stage 2.

05

Certification audit

Help choosing an accredited certification body, then support through Stage 1 and Stage 2 and the closure of any findings.

04 Cost

What ISO 9001 certification costs in the UAE

  • Certification body, initial certification: typically AED 10,000 to AED 20,000
  • Surveillance audits: smaller annual audits in years two and three
  • Recertification: typically AED 7,000 to AED 15,000 every third year
  • ESGweise: AED 3,000 per consultant day, quoted as a fixed scope after the gap analysis

Once you are certified, ISO certification maintenance keeps the system running between audits, and internal audit is available on its own. For other standards, see ISO certification in the UAE.

Frequently asked

ISO 9001 Certification: questions we hear most

How much does ISO 9001 certification cost in the UAE?

There are two parts. The certification body's audit fees typically run from AED 10,000 to AED 20,000 for initial certification, with smaller surveillance audits in the following two years and recertification at AED 7,000 to AED 15,000 in the third year. Headcount, number of sites and the complexity of what you do set where you land. The second part is building the quality management system: ESGweise charges AED 3,000 per consultant day and quotes a fixed scope after the gap analysis, with the expected certification body fees included so the total is known up front.

How long does ISO 9001 certification take?

Typically six to twelve months from a standing start, with smaller single-site organisations at the shorter end. The limit is not writing documents. The certification body needs to see the system operating, including a completed internal audit and a management review, before the Stage 2 audit can succeed.

How do I get ISO 9001 certification in Dubai?

Five steps: a gap analysis against the standard; designing and documenting the quality management system around how you actually work; running it long enough to produce records; an internal audit and a management review; then the two-stage audit by an accredited certification body you choose. ESGweise takes you through the first four and supports you through the fifth. The certificate itself is issued by the certification body, not by us.

Should we certify to ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 9001:2026?

ISO published ISO 9001:2026 on 16 September 2026. Certificates to the 2015 edition stay valid during a transition period that certification bodies expect to run about three years, to around September 2029; confirm the exact dates with your certification body, because they are set by the accreditation bodies. If you are building a system now, build it to the 2026 edition so it does not need reworking later, and ask your certification body when it can certify to the new edition.

Are you an ISO certification company?

We are ISO consultants, not a certification body. Certification bodies audit and issue certificates, and the accreditation rules keep that separate from consultancy, which is what gives the certificate its value. Check that any certification body you use is accredited for ISO 9001 and your scope; in the UAE the national accreditation body is EIAC, and bodies accredited elsewhere under the international recognition arrangements are also accepted. We have no commercial tie to any certification body, so we can help you compare them.

Is ISO 9001 mandatory in the UAE?

Not as a general legal requirement. In practice it is often a condition of doing business: buyers, main contractors and government entities frequently ask for it at supplier registration or in tenders. That is the usual reason UAE organisations seek it, and the reason to make sure the system improves how you work rather than only satisfying the auditor.
