Common questions
What does this calculate?
A screening estimate of your Scope 1 emissions (fuel burned on site and in your own vehicles, plus refrigerant leakage) and your location-based Scope 2 emissions (purchased electricity and district cooling). It follows the structure of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. It does not cover Scope 3.
Where do the emission factors come from?
Grid factors are UAE-specific where the utility or a UAE authority publishes one, and fuel and refrigerant factors come from recognised published sets. Every factor, its year and its source is listed in the method section of your report, so a reviewer can trace each number.
Is this a verified greenhouse gas inventory?
No. It is an estimate from figures you enter, with no check on their completeness or accuracy. A verified inventory needs a defined boundary, evidence for every activity figure, and independent verification under ISO 14064-3 or an assurance standard. That is the work we do.
Does the Abu Dhabi reporting threshold apply to us?
The report flags it when your site is in Abu Dhabi. The Environment Agency Abu Dhabi threshold applies per facility in covered sectors, and facilities below it in those sectors still have to file. Treat the flag as a prompt to check, not a determination.
