Common questions
Is this an energy audit?
No. It is a self-check that tells you how your building compares and how deep an audit is worth commissioning. An energy audit to ISO 50002-1:2025, which replaced ISO 50002:2014, involves site inspection, measurement and costed measures. That is the work we do.
What is energy use intensity?
Energy use per square metre of conditioned floor area per year, in kWh/m². It lets you compare buildings of different sizes. Here it counts grid electricity, on-site fuels converted to kWh, and district cooling converted to its electricity equivalent, the same way the EmiratesGBC benchmarks do.
What is my building compared with?
Hotels, resorts, schools and malls are compared with the EmiratesGBC Building Efficiency Accelerator percentiles for Dubai. Offices, retail, hospitals, homes and warehouses are placed against two published reference points: the UAE best-practice band of 110 to 170 kWh/m² a year, and the GCC average for commercial or residential buildings. Every source is listed in your report.
How are the savings worked out?
As the difference between your energy use intensity and the benchmark (the median and best performers, or the UAE best-practice band), multiplied by your floor area. They are priced at your own average cost per kWh, taken from the bill you enter. They show the size of the opportunity, not a guaranteed saving.
